the Cottages at Carriage House Manor have been providing a new level of skilled nursing care to Hopkins County.The cottages deliver the quality nursing and rehab care that Carriage House has always offered, but in a true home-like environment. Each cottage has twelve private rooms with private baths anchored by a family living and dining area. The kitchen and laundry rooms are open to residents and their families, reinforcing the home setting. Licensed nurses cover the cottages 24/7, and therapy is provided daily on an individualized basis. The Cottages are redefining the definition of nursing home.

There is a reformation movement sweeping the long term care industry called “culture change.” With this movement, studies are being released that consistently prove that patients improve faster and stay motivated and happier when they are in a comfortable home setting – as opposed to the traditional institutional setting. Following this insight, the purpose of a skilled nursing facility shifted to providing assistance with activities of daily living and clinical care, without the assistance and care becoming the focus of the residents’ existence.  In this setting, residents can express choice and self-determination in every aspect of daily life. Traditional facilities can be restrictive in the extent that culture change can be implemented. The Cottages were purpose-built to capture the true spirit of culture change.

Each cottage household has one licensed nurse and two certified nurse aides who work consistent schedules. This allows greater staff-to-resident contact and familiar bonds. In addition, our strong therapy team works with residents in their private rooms or the therapy gym. Altogether, this is a strong clinical team that sincerely cares for each resident and that supports the family-like setting. Family is important at Carriage House Manor.
